Ojukwu Jnr replies Buhari over comment on Nigeria's Unity

Following the national broadcast made by President Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday, where he alleged that he and the late Biafran General, Odumegwu Ojukwu agreed that the unity of Nigeria is non-negotiable.

Emeka Ojukwu Jnr, the first son of Ojukwu, has debunked the allegation, saying there is no atom of truth in what the president said by involving his late father.

It should be recalled that Buhari, in the national broadcast said; In 2003 after I joined partisan politics, the late Chief Emeka Ojukwu came and stayed as my guest in my hometown Daura. Over two days we discussed in great depth till late into the night and analyzed the problems of Nigeria. We both came to the conclusion that the country must remain one and united.

In a response that went viral, Emeka Ojukwu claimed that President Buhari lied against his late father when he said Ojukwu visited him in his hometown, Daura, and they both agreed that Nigeria must be united.

According to Ojukwu Jnr, there is no atom of truth in what President Buhari said, because "my father, (Ojukwu) never made mention of such visit or agreement to any member of the family."

He warned Mr. Buhari to leave the name of his father out of whatever he is doing.
