Abia State PDP is structured like a Cult - Uche Ogah

Uche Sampson Ogah
Dr. Uche Sampson Ogah, the president of Masters Energy Group has shown more light on why he dumped his former Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Abia State.

Ogah who was in PDP during the 2015 governorship election in Abia State said he dumped the party after loosing out his appeal at the Supreme court against the incumbent governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu.

Speaking with journalists at his Unuaku country home in Isuikwuato local government, Abia State, after joining the All Progressive Congress, APC, in Abia.

Ogah said, “You know after the Supreme Court decision on the 2015 Abia Governorship Election, I took time to rest (and) after careful consultations, I decided to finally join APC even though many political parties had approached me to join them”.

According to him, “The way PDP is structured in Abia is like a cult. Cult is not for the masses. Cult protects the interest of its members alone and popularises itself. In Abia state, people are sitting on the resources of the entire state, sharing public fund among themselves. I believe that anything that will not benefit or interest the masses, I get myself out of it. My belief is adding value to the lives of the people”.

On his political plan for 2019, Ogah said he was yet to make up his mind whether or not he would once again throw his hat in the ring for Abia governorship race.

“For now, I have not made up my mind on the 2019 governorship race in Abia state. I believe that the party APC will choose who runs and that person must be the best. It is not about saying it is this party or the other, APC will rule Abia,” he said.
