Empowerment Loans: Abia Youths Gets Empowered With N50, 000 each

Abia Youths Beneficiaries of the Government Empowerment Loan
Some youths in Abia State have become beneficiaries in the ongoing empowerment of N50,000 Government Enterprise Empowerment Programme.

Although, the programme is a federal government empowerment scheme, but it was brought to Abia by the state government led by governor Okezie Ikpeazu.

Abia Online report that Abia State is the first state to benefit from the federal government Empowerment Programme's soft loans in the whole of the South East.

Speaking at the event where some youths were presented with the loan, the President of Abia Youths assembly, Mr Ebere Davidson, the secretary General Mr Okechukwu Charles and other local government representatives eulogized the State Government for the logistics and publicity given to the programme.

Speakers at the event emphasized on the need to give more opportunities to youths.

They promised that their various Associations will make sure that members selected will repay loans and utilize the money to boost their businesses.

Abia Youths Assembly, Nkoro Adventist corporative society and others, have over 100 members that have received N50 thousand Government Empowerment Loans while others are waiting for bank alerts.

Responding on behalf of State Government, Mr Chinenye Nwaogu explained that GEEP is a Federal Government programme targeted at Youths in the Country but the State must support it before it becomes a success.

He explained that the Governor is fully committed and is also funding the processes. He said that the money must get to people that really need the fund.
