The marginalisation of Ndi-Igbo still lingered, thus it keeps adding salt to injury following the way the Nigerian federal government is treating any bill seeking for the development of the South-East geopolitical zone.

Recall that South-East region which is made up of (Abia, Imo, Anambra, Enugu and Ebonyi State) was excluded from the President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government railway project.

Yesterday, at the Nigerian House of Representatives plenary section, a bill seeking for an act to establish the South-East Development Commission was shouted down with "nays" by the floor members.

The bill was sponsored by Hon. Chukwuka Wilfred Onyema, member representing Ogbaru constituency in Anambra State.

At the plenary section, Hon. Chukwuka Onyema lead a debate on a bill for an act to establish the South-East Development Commission charged with the responsibility, among other things, to receive and manage fund from allocation of the Federation Account for the development, reconstruction and rehabilitation of roads, houses and other infrastructure, as well as tackle the menace of poverty, ecological problems and any other related environmental or developmental challenges in the South-East states and for other related matters.

Hon. Nwawuba added that the commission is one of unity and inclusiveness, and has the potential to douse all tension and agitations in the region.

According to Hon. Nwawube, all concerns should be addressed at committee level.

But, when the Speaker of the house, Hon. Yakubu Dogara puts the question to the floor members for voice vote, the "nays" has the majority vote.

Meanwhile, investigations proves the a lot of bills in the favour of the Northern constituencies were passed yesterday (June 1st) at the plenary section.
