Azikiwe Road by Kent - Aba Abia State
The people living in a suburb of Aba South, Abia State, precisely Azikiwe by Kent, has lamented the rise of gunmen who terrorized the residents and the shop owners.

It will be recalled that since 10th May 2017, the Abia State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Adeleye Oyebade relocated to Aba, the city has been calm and peaceful.

The CP told newsmen why he relocated to Aba was following the resurgence of kidnapping in Aba, the commercial nerve centre of Abia State.

Oyebade further explained that he was relocating the headquarters of the state command to Aba, to enable him to have a scorecard of the activities of his men in the city and its environs and efforts they are making to nip the crime in the bud.

Contrary to his relocation to Aba, which yielded a good result, as Aba has been peaceful and calm, but indications show the hoodlums have started operation.

A resident of Azikiwe by Kent, Mr. Julius Okike who reported the crime to AbaCityBlog revealed that the rate at which hoodlums attack people at Azikiwe by Kent is very alarming.

He stated that the hoodlums always come in a group of four boys with a locally made pistol. They disguise their selves as security men with torchlight. Mostly, they operate around 10pm - 12am, at times 4am, almost on a daily basis.

Meanwhile, the calls to curb such crime has been going on in Aba, but the security personnel has in several occasions gave the residents a deaf ear.

Mr. Okike further revealed to AbaCityBlog that he has written a post to a social media page of Abia State Police Command, but it seems they don't take his complain seriously as the hoodlums are still operating.
