From Made-in-Aba to Make-in-Aba

From Made-in-Aba to Make-in-Aba
By Enyinnaya Appolos

The rhythm is changing. Our people are now proud promoters and users of Made-in-Aba products. It is time to move the campaign a notch higher to Make-in-Aba.

What that simply mean is that we are calling on investors and makers of all kinds of goods and services to come to Aba to make, sell and create wealth for themselves and Aba people.

Did I hear you ask what have we done on the issue of security?

Good question.

We are doing a lot and are ready to do much more even up to the roots of the security challenges we experience from time to time. We recognize that the most viable and near permanent solution to insecurity is to create job opportunities that will take hitherto idle but creative minds off the streets and have them put their ingenuity to work at various factories making made-in-Aba brands.

The most viable and long lasting guarantee to security is to employ those willing to work while allowing the criminal justice system to deal with others who by nature refuse to be useful citizens.

As we continue to work towards sustaining the made in Aba promotion campaign, the time is also right for us to collectively launch a Make In Aba campaign.

Let the Made in Aba promotion continue alongside the Make in Aba campaign. Both paths lead to prosperity and social security in Abia State, Ala-Igbo, Nigeria and Africa.

Enyinnaya Appolos
Chief Press Secretary to the Governor
