Abia State news
The Abia State government-led Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has promised to reward N1 million to any informants with authentic information on the whereabouts of the hoodlums terrorising the state.

Ikpeazu, who recently came back from his trip to China, frowned at the level of insecurities in Aba, Abia State - adding that citizens have a role to play in the aspect of curbing the menace of insecurities in the state.

He, however, stated that the N1 million reward is a way to boost morale of citizens to give accurate information to security personnel in a way to arrest and prosecute the hoodlums.

Addressing a press conference in the government house, Umuahia - Governor Ikpeazu praised the security personnel who successfully arrested some gunmen in Aba, while they were operating inside the city.

He also said his administration has mapped out plans to curb the menace of Insecurities in the state.

Meanwhile, reactions have trailed the governor's proposal of giving out N1 million to anyone who exposes kidnappers in the state - as some said the N1 million could have been used to clear off the salary backlog of the state.

It will be recalled that Ikpeazu's administration are still owing the Abia State civil servants close to six months salary arrears.
