According to the lecturer turned politician, who has been contributing eminently in the governor Ikpeazu's administration via sharing ideas that will move the state forward, said his aim of contesting isn't to challenge the incumbent Governor, neither there is a need to put a stop to Godfatherism in Abia, God's Own State.

Sir Ahaiwe who took to his social media handle to register his reasons why he is contesting, said; "In 2019 it's not Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu that I will be running against, I'll be confronting a system - a system engineered by Orji Kalu, perpetuated by Theodore Orji and inherited by Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, a system that makes a few people lord and the rest carries chain on their neck.

"I will confront this system, we'll conquer this system. When I said that I want to be elected the Governor of Abia State in 2019, it is not for the fun of being called Your Excellency but for us to have a new and inspiring beginning in Abia State.

"Abia State is God’s own State. We'll not lend any more our neck to the chain but we'll rise to be the shining light of this nation.

"My emergence as the Governor of Abia State may mark the turning point in the history of our country Nigeria for until a new generation rises Nigeria will continue to sink.

"If you love where you come from lend me your support now. Your support will make our victory easy.

My name is Udo Ahaiwe, I want to be elected the Governor of Abia State in 2019.
