BIAFRA: EU Task Buhari to Investigate Killings of IPOB members


Sixteen members of the European parliament have called to notice and investigation of alleged killing and torturing of the ipob members by the President Buhari lead security operatives in Nigeria.

In a letter addressed to the High Representative and vice president of the EU high commission Federica Mogherini said the unlawful detention of Nnamdi Kanu and the violence against IPOB members of Nigerian government must be looked into.


It accused the Nigerian Department of State Service (DSS) of illegally imprisoning Mr Nnamdi Kalu since October 14 2015.

The letter reads in part: 'The authorities Nnamdi kanu and his co-defendants, Benjamin madubugwu and Nwawuisi deny all charges brought against them.

On 19th october in Abuja, the chief magistrate hon Shuaibu discharged Kalu of all criminal charges including the alligation of managing and belonging to and unlawful society,criminal intimidation and of criminal conspiracy. Shaibu granted Kalu bail, of which all conditions were met but the department of state services refused to release him.


The members of European parliament also made clear to the Eu high federica mogherini that on 17th December that justice Adeniyi Ademola also ordered the immediate unconditional release of Kalu from the custody of the DSS but that was not enacted.

The also pointed out that the Nigerian govt have been violating the Human rights of the Pro-biafran members and activists as the engage in scores of peaceful protests in the country.

Therefore, they have called on the European Union to look into the matter and see to it that none of the protesters of the pro-biafran group would be violated and given freedom to air their views.
