A group of militants led by Don Wanny, today, surrendered their arms to the Rivers State Amnesty Programme Committee, following the offer made by the Rivers State government to grant Amnesty to the agitation groups.
Don Wanny, who is known to be a leader of a well-armed group of agitators surrendered more than twenty AK-47 riffles, General Purpose Machine Guns, GPMGs, rocket launchers, Granades, British Pump Action, among many other dangerous weapons.
Dailypost reports that one of the Greenlander group in Omoku, who identified himself as Nath UKwusa, said they were in support of the Amnesty Programme but required more time to mobilize their members to turn in their arms.
Meanwhile, some cult groups operating around Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State are not ready to surrender their arms.
