According to one of the traders, Mr. Emeka, who reported the matter to Abacityblog, he stated that the money being collected from them is illegal and that it has been going round the market for some weeks now.

When asked the real reason why the collection of the N2000, he told our reporter that Mr. Nna and his group are collecting the money in the claim of illegal roof extension, which he said that the traders in the market only extended the roof of their shops to enable it shelter them from sun and rain.

According to him; For some weeks now members of the market union headed by mr Alozie Nna have been collecting the sum of 2000 thousand naira from the members of the Market in the name of illegal roof extension.
According to them (Market Union), the shot outs are illegal. Refusal for the marketers to pay the money will resort to use military personnel to collect it.

Why calling on the state government to look into the matter, he wondered why the collection of the N2000 over what the union termed as illegal extension, he said; "If it is illegal as the Union claim, will the collection of the N2000 make it legal?

If they are illegal, they should be removed and not ask marketer to pay for it. He quipped.
